We’re writing to you because you have a huge fan base and you may be interested to share with your readers what we’re about to interest you.

I’ve attached a press release for your information including the story that ran on Sunday in The New Paper. Founder and managing director Olivier Peyran has this to say “what better time to launch our free DVD rental program than now when movies can help us escape momentarily from this gloomy economy and bring some joy? DVD rental has been a great way to save on entertainment but we want to offer more than that thus we’re simply making it free for everyone.”

All Singaporeans will have access to the free rentals and gets to keep the DVD for a day. One simply has to register at any of the 10 PLAY! kiosk island-wide and will gain immediate access to the free rental. It is an outright free rental with no request of deposit or any other hidden costs. The rentals are not capped for an individual and one can rent as many movies as they like, all year long.

The selection of titles offered is self generated by the system and rotated hourly in order to guarantee movie choices that are new and varied. Each display is capped to a selection of 10 titles that are always different. Titles offered are from 12 months since its release on DVD format.

PLAY! Entertainment Pte Ltd is a 24/7 chain-kiosk retailer with 10 kiosks island-wide. PLAY! kiosks are very accessible near MRT stations, bus-interchanges or suburb shopping malls.

Biometric registration and rental are fully automated in both English and Chinese language. PLAY! has more than 70,000 members to date.

Yesterday, I bought a new game for my Xbox 360 called “Fable 2″. It’s an open-ended game where anything goes in a world of adventure and fantasy.

Here is an account of the first 3 hours of gameplay.

1. Enraged by the fact that we had the blood of heroes in our veins, a mad nobleman kills my sister and throws me out the window of his very very tall tower.
2. An old woman rescues me, I grow to manhood in a gypsy camp
3. After kicking a chicken for the 10th time, the gameworld bestows a rude nickname upon me.
4. I discover that by dancing, farting and showing off my biceps, the local villagers in my camp have their admiration increased.
5. The wife of the local trader falls in love with me. The trader keeps yelling at me, “That’s my wife!”
6. Another young lass falls in love with me
7. Both ladies follow me back to my caravan, where I try (and fail) to initiate a threesome.
8. I marry the wife of the local trader, despite the fact that she is already married. An icon of two male faces appear over her head, probably indicating her bigamy.
9. Despite following the instructions in the manual, I fail to have unprotected sex with my new bigamous wife. Perhaps she has some hangups.
10. Thinking that her prior husband may have some part to play in my failing to lose my virginity, I unleash a magical shockwave and stab him in the heart with my sword. He dies.
11. Still no sex.
12. Frustrated and angry as hell, I accidentally kill my ‘wife’ in a rage.
13. Since it was already 1am, I decided WTH, and kill every other person in the camp as well.

Fastforward 30 years later to present-day 2008. We’re still watching television but Starhub has now enabled us to watch it on our mobile phones via their “Starhub TV on Mobile” service.

Hell, I can see myself doing all of the above and more. It’s definitely going to enhance the quality of my life.

So I now own an Xbox 360. My wife bought it for me because I seemed very depressed when i got back from China last week. It’s supposed to be an early Xmas present.

There are quite a few Xbox package sets on offer, especially at the SITEX fair - none of them are as good as the package I got from Cyberactive. The $499Xbox 360 Holiday bundle I got not only came with 2 free games as per the advertisement - I also got to choose one more additional game (picked Gears Of War) for free and they threw in an additional controller at $69.90. After that, I also got to choose anything else I wanted for at a 7% discount - and I got that highly acclaimed Bioshock game.

This is my first console, that isn’t modded which means that I can’t play pirated games on it. The reason for this is because I did my homework and realized that if you go online with the Xbox 360 and they detect a modchip, you get banned. One of the main reasons why I got an Xbox 360 was to go online!

So due to the high cost of original games, I have very few games but that means that I am actively trying to finish each game from beginning to end. For the past few nights, I have been kicking Locust arse in Gears of War. It’s the only game I’m currently playing at the moment.

There is a large plasma tv in my hall, which is great when it’s hooked up to the Xbox 360. Unfortunately, I play in my room most of the time - and my room only has a shitty (read normal) tv. Most of the text being displayed by the Xbox 360 can’t even be read at that low resolution, so that is a friggin problem. I’m currently looking to get a new plama flatscreen as soon as I have some confidence in the economy.

What I really like about the Xbox are the ‘arcade’ games. These little games can be retro in nature (pac-man) or entirely new. They’re suitable for kids, causal gamers like me and oldies like my parents. In this sense, the whole family can enjoy the Xbox 360.

Also, the Xbox 360 hooks up to my iPod to play my music (it reads my playlists!) and has so far been able to play all the movie DVD’s I’ve thrown in.

I’m very pleased with it. It’s different from my Nintendo Wii in the sense that it’s more of an all-round crowd-pleaser. You might want to consider getting one for yourself or a loved one this Xmas.

Apparently, he found out (accidentally) that all employee email were on auto-forward to the boss - without their knowledge. When aforementioned boss was confronted, he saw nothing wrong with it.

Now that is some unethical high-handedness.

How many of us have caught our bosses doing something unethical and dared to stand up to him?
