Facebook, How I Love To Hate Thee

Two very interesting things happened to me on Facebook today. Before we begin, I must tell you that my facebook account is my true identity and therefore very private:

——————————————————–

Today, I found my long lost best friend from my primary school days. All I did was type his name into Facebook and his face appeared immediately. This is a miracle considering the fact that I’ve been trying to find him since search engines were invented.

After primary school, he went to a different school for rich kids, while I went to a neighborhood school. I believe it was then that I developed a massive inferiority complex. For reasons unknown to myself, I developed an intense dislike of him (or was it for my own life) and drifted away on purpose. Later as an adult, I realized how stupid this was but could not find him. Until now.

———————————————————-

Today, this geeky girl from my secondary school days found me on Facebook. She used to follow me around and I knew she had a massive crush on me. Being a year her senior (roughly 10 years by teenage perceptions), I did not bother too much with her. After some time, I transfered to another school and forgot all about her.

Well she found me, and added me to her friends list out of the blue when she spotted me on my secondary school’s Alumni page on facebook.

And guess what - she’s a babe now. Seriously drop dead gorgeous.

One must wonder…

I suppose Skater Boy by Avril Lavigne would be a most appropriate song for you…

Maybe if you dated her she will not be drop dead gorgeous now?

Isn’t it awesome - how you’re googling your soul out to find people and now with all those apps..they’re right there. I found my complete 1st grade elementary school line-up.
