Krispy Kreme Bankrupt, Exits Hong Kong

When I travel back to China from Singapore, one of my optional routes is to fly to Hong Kong and then travel overland to China. During one of such trips, I discovered to my great delight that Krispy Kreme doughnuts were now being sold in Hong Kong.

And during longer stays in China, I would sojourn out to Hong Kong on weekends. Krispy Kreme doughnuts were a definite must-have on such trips. In fact, Krispy Kreme doughnuts are very effective if you’re having a massive hangover. And then later I discovered that Krispy Kreme had opened a branch at the Hong Kong airport, which resulted in me always buying a couple of boxes to bring home to Singapore.

Alas, Krispy Kreme has gone bankrupt in Hong Kong and will be closing down. Apparently the outrageous property rental rates in Hong Kong had something to do with it.

My heart shattered into a million pieces of choked arteries when I heard the news…

at least the 2 kiosks in the airport are still open for business. So u still can grab them enroute back out or going into HK , only thing is not sure how long these 2 kiosks will last. so get it while it’s hot!

Doncha worry. Vincent Tan is gonna bring the krispy kreme franchise to malaysia and contribute to the obesity crisis.

But a buy of Krispy Kreme in Malaysia means a vote for judicial corruption. VK Lingam is still free as a bird. You’ll probably see in line at a Krispy Kreme at Berjaya Times Square.

“3 chocolate, 3 almond, 3 jelly, sir?”
“Korrect, Korrect, Korrect.”

But fuck it, right, who cares about politics as long as you aren’t personally, directly affected. *sarcasm*
