The Writing Is On The Bathroom Wall

Today, I brought my parents shopping. Or rather, I chucked them at Orchard Road with a handful of cash and then I drove off to attend a party elsewhere before I came back to pick them up later.
Before we left, I had to use the bathroom. I was parked on the 6th floor of Ngee Ann City, so I went to the little boy’s room located inside Best Denki. Do you know where that is? There is actually a door next to the plasma television section that leads to public washrooms! While your peeps wait for you outside, they can watch the latest in high-fidelity viewing pleasure!
So while I was in there, 2 Best Denki employees came in as well. This is the conversation I overheard.
So how’s things? Not good ah?
Haha not good lah!
Really? That bad ah?!
Bad ahhh. Really bad….
This is how it starts. People have stopped buying consumer items they don’t need. So the huge electronics store on the 5th floor of one of Singapore’s most hoighty-toighty malls can’t move anything and I confirmed it by listening to their sales people moan in the washroom.
And my Mom bought 3 pairs of new shoes.
