We All Know The Real Work Gets Done At Night

For the past 3 days, I have been

1) spending the day in boring mind-numbing meetings
2) spending the nights schmoozing and networking with the folk from the meetings.

Actually, my main objective was point 2, point 1 was just a necessary evil. My peers from all over Asia were in town for a regional meeting, and in order to score brownie points - I became their tour guide and driver all rolled into one. When a person becomes totally dependant on you for food, fun and booze - they can’t help but become a good good friend.

So the result is that everybody now fully supports me and I’m welcome anytime in their countries - a great achievement judging from the previous cold receptions I got the last time I visited them.

GuanXi - you just can’t live without it.

of course when they are dependent on food and fun, they’ll be eating out of your hand. but when you go back to their country it’s a 50/50 whether they’ll reciprocate. good luck!
