Every Little Itty Bitty Bit Helps
This morning, I had breakfast in a rather rundown coffee shop in Johor Bahru. Its the kind of place that has several hawker stalls selling food inside. All of the hawkers are senior citizens.
When I wanted to pay for my coffee and porridge, they plonked two tin cans in front of me and asked for donations instead for the victims of the Sichuan Earthquake Disaster.
Apparently all of the hawkers had collectively decided to forgo their earnings for the day in order to raise money.
Imagine that. Although they were old, poor and overworked - they still wanted to do their bit for their brothers and sisters in the motherland.
There is hope for the human race yet.
