Loser Or Marked Man?

Yesterday evening, I made my way to the Cafe de Coral where they serve my favourite baked porkchop with rice. As usual, I went straight to the cashier and pointed to the picture of the dish I desired afterwhich I made my way to the nearest empty table.

When I travel, I note that the locals tend to stare at me. It’s probably because my clothes are different. Usually I ignore such behavior, preferring to play with my Blackberry phone instead.

When my food arrived, I tucked in with such gusto that I finished my food almost as fast as it took to arrive. And then it hit me.

I was the only male, dining alone in the entire restaurant.

All other solo diners were female.

Why were there no male diners supping alone? How come the proportion of females having to have their dinner by themselves was so much greater? Were all the females business travellers like myself?

It’s terribly puzzling – a mystery!

Maybe not all business travellers – Me thinks sometimes women don’t want to eat in front of other women… I never understood that?
