Singaporeans say that they are not picky about the work and will do anything. Which is why the inflow of foreign talent needs to be stemmed.

So how come vacancies for female pallbearers-cum-embalming assistants who earn more than $1,000 a month, including tips, and an extra $20 each for every case after office hours - went ignored and had to be filled by women from China instead?

I think the reasoning is very simple.
Given you the choice to work in a factory that you meet around with living human being and you can earn $1000++ a month and also OT pay. Which will you choose?

In other country (eg. Taiwan), the pay for pallbearers-cum-embalming assistants is much more then S$1000+.

Moreover it take a lot courage to face a corpse.
Even guys might not have the courage let alone ladies.

Anyway, just my 2 cents worth.
