Singapore Manhunt Triggers Massive Traffic Jam At Checkpoints

The authorities are taking no further chances now that the Jemaiyah Islam Detainee, Mas Selamat somehow managed to escape from the Whitley Detention Centre on Wednesday.

With Singapore’s largest manhunt now in progress, all motor vehicles leaving Singapore for Malaysia via the Woodlands checkpoint and the Tuas checkpoint are being carefully searched . Immigration officers are checking under seats, tyre compartments and any orifice where Mas Selamat could possibly squeeze himself into.

This has caused a massive traffic jam at both checkpoints. My wife entered the queue at 5.30pm today, and reached Malaysia at 8pm. She usually only takes 20 mins to clear the checkpoint.

This is the current scene at the Woodslands checkpoint, all the lights are cars trying to leave Singapore to Malaysia.

And this is the current scene from the Tuas checkpoint.

To all the poor souls still stuck in the traffic jam right now, I hope you had a piss before driving home…

The authority need to do something fast.. think all the press & news try to cover up how badly the jam in checkpoint.. basically the entire traffic was paralysed. For us who commute daily, really really suffer a lot… may push one to go crazy after 1 whole day or stress work.
