Cowboy Caleb Killed A Sex Blog Yesterday

A Singapore blogger, Yuhui who apparently works in an advertising agency, took photos of a girl wearing a sexy back outfit and titled the post as “A prostitute takes the bus“.

The post was initially linked by Singapore’s popular Cowboy Caleb but it was subsequently taken down.

Somebody just alerted me to this - apparently I have been instrumental in killing off a blog without even realizing it by linking to this post. Somebody else is also claiming credit, but that’s besides the point.

Here are the facts:

1. Yuhui started a blog featuring women. I have no problems with that. More power to him.
2. YuHui is receiving a lot of flak for stereotyping women. He posted photos of a woman dressed as like whore on a bus. Whatever YuHui chooses to publish on the Intarwebs really is Yuhui’s business. He calls women who dress provacatively, prostitutes. Hey most of us guys think that any dude who shaves his eyebrows and wears pink is a fairy. Stereotyping? Who are you to judge? “Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t consider the beam that is in your own eye?” - Matthew 7:3
3. YuHui has been blogging since forever and is one of the more interesting individuals in the Singapore Blogosphere.
4. I did not take my post down. My server, liquidblade.com migrated to a new box and this “whore on the bus” posts was simply one of the posts that got lost in the process.

If you delete this then you have slapped yourself. Because since its my business I can call you a whore can’t I?

you have a great blog, but why would you call a woman who dresses provocatively a whore? I’m not sure how men perceive being called gigolos (the logical equivalent of the word “whore”), but any woman would feel offended that she can’t choose to dress any way she wants without being branded as someone who’s selling her body.

As an aside, men often call women who wear bikinis “babes”. Given that a bikini is pretty much the skimpiest piece of clothing a woman can wear, would you call all women who wear bikinis prostitutes?
