Starting 2008…. With A Bang

A huge truck smashed into my (stationary) car while I was was waiting at a red light. The impact was so great that my car was pushed about 5 feet forward. Luckily there were no other cars in front of me or the damage would have been worse. And thank goodness nothing blew up, because the truck was fully loaded with gas containers. The entire rear end of my car crumpled in to asorb the impact. After that because it was the New Year’s Eve, I could reach neither my appointed workshop’s ‘24×7 emergency hotline’ nor my insurance company.

Shortly after that, I received a call that my grandfather had been hospitalized and was about to receive a blood transfusion. So I rushed back and went to the hospital and spent most of the new year eve evening at his bedside.

2008… bah, hambug!
