  • Au Revoir Minishorts

Minishorts was in Singapore for the Communicasia thingy but we couldn’t meet up for dinner or anything because she lost my mobile number, got the wrong one from Kennysia(asshat) but finally managed to get the right number from mrbrown.

So I made it up to her by picking her up for lunch, and then driving her off to the airport to catch her flight.

It’s strange and rather odd that I’ve known Minishorts for 4-5 years now. We both met during a tremendously painful period of our life (we were both going through the same shite) and we both started blogging at around the same time (this was way before blogging was even a word).

In all this time, I’ve only met her twice. Once, when she attended my wedding and the second time – today. Isn’t it odd, that once of my dearest friends is never around, never hangs out with me and besides we barely even speak to one another these days what with our busy careers and all that.

She’s not blogging very much now, unlike me because I dropped blogging for about a year in 2006 and started again in 2007. We spoke about this and both agree it’s because only unhappy people feel the need to blog – which implies of course that she’s very happy these days with the way life is going.

When I dropped her off at the airport, I took out the lomo and we both took a fisheye shot together. Very nicely done like a scene from a Wong Kar Wai movie with Minishorts wearing a polka dot disco top and me in one of those white civil servant short sleeved shirts.

She’s very much the confident career superwoman these days – there’s no doubt about that. But the old cheeky Minishorts with the machinegun mouth who’s fiercely proud to be Malaysian is still hiding around the corner…

And so is the old Cowboy Caleb.

…. only unhappy people feel the need to blog!?

I thought you are happily married with no kid yet? Your blog reflected your life is very happening and many friends surrounding you except some work stress and whining… what more can one ask for!?

Haha.. sometimes a blog reflects something someone wish he has.. but doesn’t. A projection of someone he wish he is.. but not.. yet.
