Update on the Singapore National Library

The Central Lending Library at Bras Basah has some new shite going on.

  1. Books are now arranged by genre - Horror, Sci-fi, Thriller etc. This was done based on feedback by members. Awesome!
  2. Everybody gets their lending quota doubled - because it’s the school holidays. Normal members can now borrow 8 books and premium members get 16 books. I used this chance to get a truckload of graphic novels. This applies to all libraries.
  3. Audio books are now available. The range is quite myriad. I saw books from Curious George to Stephen King. Each audio book has around 1 - 10 CD’s but counts as one item from your quota. A premium membership is required to borrow audio books. I’m now listening to Kazuo Ishiguro’s “Never Let Me Go”.

I think the general idea here is to borrow audio books, rip them into MP3’s and listen to them slowly on your mp3 weapon of choice.

So go on down to the National Library today and get your freak on. It still remains the best place to meet members of the opposite sex in Singapore today.

yeah, I borrowed 7 comics/graphic novels and 1 novel that day. Batgirl rocks!

I fear I am running out of comics to read.

I prefer the Stormwatch & Authority series.

Actually, any vertigo comic is a must-read for me.

Don’t really dig the batman/superman shite.
