Real Men Have Laser Printers

On a sunny Saturday morning, I waited outside the Singapore PC Fair 2007 at Suntec City waiting for the doors to open.

What real men need in their homes are laser printers. None of the gay bubblejet shite that print in multiple colours of the rainbow. The world only needs two colours - black and white. Of course the fact that printing documents with laser printers is far more cost-effective than bubblejets also plays a big role.

Originally, I had wanted to purchase the HP Laserjet 1020 which came with wireless printing. The idea of being able send nekkid images from my laptop downstairs to a printer upstairs appealed to me in a fiendish way. The price however was not right.

To obtain the wireless capability, one would have to fork out SGD249 instead of the listed SGD189. And there was only one wireless adaptor. So only one computer would be able to print at a time. The numbers just didn’t make sense.

So I took a look at the Brother booth and found the DCP-7010 instead. It had 2,400 x 600dpi print resolution, prints up to 20ppm, onboard 16MB memory and a two-year onsite warranty.

Apart from printing, it could also serve as a copier and a colour scanner.

But what really took the cake was the math.

PC Show Price: $278
Complimentary NTUC voucher: $20
Brother Pre-loaded Cash Card with a value of: $38

So the actual price I paid after factoring in the freebies was actually $228. El Cheapo thinks the price is right!!!

Are any of you faggots out there still using bubblejets?

You can’t print animated porn, regardless of laser or bubblejet.

I don’t understand what do you mean by only 1 Wireless adaptor and so only 1 computer can print wirelessly ?

dear gaylord,

Ok so lets say you have a laptop with the wireless print adaptor. You can print using it.

But I also have a desktop at home. So my desktop won’t print because the wireless print adoptor is already plugged into my laptop. And I can’t connect the desktop directly into the printer because it just wasn’t designed to work that way.

Lame, right?

Brother? Ugh, so far not so good experiences with their inkjets. It’s actually programmed to *finish up your ink* even when you’re not using it, under the guise of “cleaning the print heads”. Google this and read the outraged comments. How scummy is this??

I also have a Brother labeller. Put in fresh 4 AAAs, and 10 minutes it says, “Battery low”. Have to fork out money for rechargeable AAAs in the end.

Brother is a Taiwan brand, as opposed to HP (US), Canon, Toshiba, etc (Japan), and so far I’m far from being impressed. (Origin of manufacture notwithstanding). Here’s hoping you get a different experience with your laser printer and that it will print the rated number of pages for each toner catridge.

hook up to a wireless router and your whole wireless network can print your nekkid pictures. :)

Hi Caleb..

Sorry for the LOOONG delay.

Yes, if you have Wireless network (aka Wireless Router , mostly), then as long as any PC is on the network (whether using wireless, or ethernet), then you can print nekkid or whatever pictures as you wish…

Network your Printer.. That is what sharing is about..

Please also install internet printing protocol, so I can print my nekkid picture for you to view..

*snigger*

Sorry, forgot to add. if you Desktop doesn’t have wireless, then use wire to connect it to your router..

Of course, if you use your desktop like a laptop (real men carry their desktop around, not those faggoty laptops), then buy another wireless adaptor.. Hahaha..

Or if your desktop is too far away from your router, and cable is too unsightly, then no choice but buy another wireless adaptor..
