Usually when you travel by budget airline it’s a free-for-all seat grab. If you’re fast and lucky, you’ll get a nice seat. That’s always been the case (hey, I fly budget when I go on holiday because the company isn’t paying) and people have never liked it.

Enter Tiger Airways. They’ve actually figured out that you hate this high faluting free-seating thingamabob so much that they’ve decided you may actually be willing to pay to choose your seat.

You know what - they’re right. Not all seats are made equal. As a frequent flyer, I can tell you that there are seats that you most definitely do NOT want to be stuck on and seats that really do make a 3 hour flight seem shorter.

Well the flights are bleeding cheap (if you plan in advance) so I guess paying a little bit more for additional ease of mind wouldn’t hurt.

Update: AirAsia is now offering the same option for RM20.

It’s a pity you’ve been suffering.. if only you’ve realised that there’s other budget airline that has been offering allocated seating since day 1 and they’ve recently offered seat selection online at no additional fee. That’s Jetstar !!

I flew Jetstar about a year ago and didn’t realize they had allocated seatings… I’ll go check again but thanks for the info!

I hate Tigerairways with a passion, so much so that I regestered a domain name and got a hosting package to go with it today. http://www.tigerairways-warning.com , It may take a few days to show up on the net for some reason, but its the start of my war on them to try and take them out of business, I am not a web site developer not by a long shot, so I am looking for a small team of fellow tiger haters to help me grow the site and spread the info contained in its pages to the good people of planet Earth.
