World’s Top 100 Most Livable Cities
What foreign postings are most coveted by expatriate executives? To find out, Mercer Human Resource Consulting, which provides advice to multinational companies on international assignments, has come up with a global ranking of the world’s most livable cities based on 39 key quality-of-life issues. They include political stability, currency-exchange regulations, political and media censorship, school quality, housing, the environment and public safety.
So Singapore still remains the best place to live in South-East Asia - just after Paris and before Tokyo. Unsurprisingly, Kuala Lumpur came in at a pathetic 75th place but the real shocker is that Johor Bahru was revealed to be a much better place to live in than Shanghai.
Anyway, I checked out the cities I am usually in at any point of time and it turned out like this:
34) Singapore
70) Hong Kong (must be the f87king pollution)
75) Kuala Lumpur
101) Johor Bahru
103) Shanghai
109) Bangkok (kudos to the current military junta)
131) Guangzhou
