The problem with friends, is that you never really know where you stand with them. Are you high up on their hiearchy, or way down on the list? Confound it, one needs to be a mindreader these days because people are getting more and more complex as a result of the Intarwebs and sitcoms like The Sopranos.

When we face an issue with a certain person, as a result of their actions – we sometimes choose to ignore what they have done simply because we fear our greatest worry may be indeed correct and therefore devastate us. So that’s why we all go along in life, hating one another for slights and hurts that our friends have inflicted upon us, all the while sipping our cappucino doubles and laughing away with one another sitting down in a cafe, pretending all is well.

This is the reason why Lucy will not ask Tom if he did indeed have a one night stand with her best friend. If he told her the truth, her world may crash and she would not be able to go on living.

This is also the reason why Ah Teck and Jerry are no longer really best friends because one night Jerry refused to drive Ah Teck to the hospital to visit a really sick relative by lying that he was not at home (he was at home and even answered the phone when another friend called him there later).

So there you have it. People pretending to be friends. People pretending to get along. People hoping that time will heal their broken little petty hearts.

You f97king morons. Use the marvels of the Intarwebs.

Send him/her an email, and ask:

“Why did you do it?”

or stop having friends altogether. i hardly have any.
