  • Here Comes The Bullet Of Shopping And Death

I heard on the radio this morning that the proposed bullet train linking Kuala Lumpur and Singapore has been approved. The journey will now only take 90 minutes as opposed to the 7 hours by rail or 5 hours by road.

People called into the radio show, proclaiming their sublime joy at the propect of being able to pop-over to Singapore over the weekends to do their shopping.

I’m thinking – “a super high speed bullet train” + “nepotism” + “bribes” + “extremely low quality” + “Malaysian track record for screwing up”.

    No, thanks. I’d rather drive.

Hiak hiak. I wonder why the KLCC hasn’t fallen over yet.

Although, I suppose the company involved would rather ensure it operates reasonably well to make up for the large investment its putting in, not to mention the bribes it had to pay to get the tender.

Fascinating. If it does work out, it could bring better relations between both countries. Then again, if something went wrong, death would be quick :P

They cant even build proper public transport systems in KL city. Msia produced leaders who can’t think properly and can’t prioritise important stuffs they need to take care of urgently. As a foreign counterpart told me, “I think your country is an example of dump people ruling smart people”.

I don’t think the bullet train was approved. In The Star y’day, only the Penang Monorail and the 2nd Penang Bridge has been.

Ditto here. Don’t think the bullet train is approved. It is currently still under study.
