One Step Forward, Two Steps Back
There is nothing quite so unappealing as Changi Airport at 6am in the morning. The smells of sanitized carpets, unwashed tourists in transit and metal polish simply fouls up the rest of the day.
So here I am, off again to goodness-knows-where and dunno-how-long. In the meanwhile, my wife is resting at home for the rest of the week, having been discharged from the hospital. The doctors say they dontreallyknowwhatswrongwithherbutsheshouldbeokperhapsitwassomethingsheate and slap me with a huge hospital bill.
For the first time in my life, I have a job that I truly enjoy. My bosses are wonderful people, who actually perpetuate the company values they preach. The benefits and pay package are great. The only hitch is the fact that I work 7 days a week, 16 hours a day and travel all the time.
So yes, I am off working while my wife is sick at home.
And it tears me apart.
