Perils In Penang

I will never evar fly MAS domestic again. The planes are bad. The landings and takeoff are horrendous. It took me 4 hours to get from Senai Airport in Johor Bahru to Penang Island. Halfway, I had to transit for an hour in Kuala Lumpur - and the plane was 30 mins late. What gives?

Speaking of which, how is KLIA an ‘international airport’, when a very posh looking cafe serving ‘international’ coffess and cakes is unable to take credit card payments? I was extremely cheesed when they insisted on cash payments taking into the fact that a lousy expresso, a cappucino and a slice of tiramisu cost 50 bucks. You wanna be upscale? Please accept Visa, dammit. Nobody uses cash anymore.

The staff at my hotel (Sheraton) told me that Saucy Senoritas was a pretty good place to get a drink. So they called me a cab and I proceeded there. There was a terrific band there doing hip-hop and R&B. In fact, they reminded me a lot of the Fugees. Excellent! Again, no credit cards accepted though.

I then pub-hopped to this other club next door, called S3. It had star wars lights at the entrance which made me feel like I was walking in outer space. The place was pretty empty… after one drink I wanted to leave when suddenly these 3 pole dancers hopped onto the stage and started bumping and grinding… you can watch the video here.
Penang quite fun leh!
