Best Blogs No One Reads

cc20060114-1

The best writers in the world don’t necessarily have the best blogs, and the best blogs out there aren’t necessarily the ones that have the most hits.

We all know too well the bizarre phenomenom of blog celebrities. I’m sure at some point in time, popular bloggers today used to churn out entries that were actually fun and enjoyable to read. Then bloglitics rear its ugly head.

Legal threats, political correctness and the mass scrutiny that comes with the enormous traffic they receive literally force these bloggers onto their knees and into self-censorship mode. “As one of the top bloggers, you must do this and that, you shouldn’t do this and that…” their readers dictate. Disillusioned, these bloggers began heavily scrutinising their own entries, thinking twice, three times, ten times before hitting the ‘Publish’ button. Eventually, it comes to a point where their entries became so monstrously editted they lost their original flavour became bland.

“Blog celebrities” they are called, when in fact they are nothing more than the shadows of their past.

Times like this, I’d like to visit blog sites that are still at its infancy, and not many people know. They don’t get the tens and thousands of hits that the popular bloggers do. It doesn’t mean that they are bad writers, they’re just un-noticed. But at least they are free from the bloglitics, more true to the roots, more “real life”.

Here, I present to you, the best hidden gems of the blogosphere…

and with one click of the ‘publish’ button to publish this post, you have rendered them ‘not hidden’, and have hereby brought about that ‘mass scrutiny’ upon them. haha. hmmm.

Sometimes, the best are famously obscure. Hidden treasures that are never found.
