I am rather happy. If you minus out the stress from my work, wedding and hairline, I’d have to say that damn, my life is sweet.

Not that I’m complaining or anything, but being happy does have its complications:

    My blog gets boring
C’mon, I know ya’ll want to read more tales of self-loathing and despair. If you had wanted happy tales, there’s always the Disney and Hallmark channel. Nobody really wants to read about how great my life is. Also when I am happy, I am less errr… eloquent? This reduces the entertainment value of my blog.

    My life gets boring
Because I am so busy being happy, I am not really inclined to do much else. For an example, I can’t really be bothered to attend parties, reply sms’s or say good morning. This results in people thinking I am the assholiest of assholies.

My complacency takes a turn for the worse
There is no point in telling a happy person about your problems - honest injun!!! A happy person simply does not give a flying f87k because he/she is unable to emphatize with you. Have you heard the term misery loves company? You need new company because happy company just isn’t your scene right now.

I become the critic from hell
Whenever I am happy, I imagine that my shit smells like perfume and lord it over other people. Just because I am happy gives me the sole right to tell you what to do with your miserable life. After all, if you had a clue then you would be happy - like me.

    My waistline expands
Happy people eat a lot. The opposite is also true. But happy people tend to eat more then slightly unhappy people, which is a really really bad thing. Only last night, my wife cooked a huge bowl of ba ku teh flavored instant noodles at 12am!!!

The rules of saying you’re happy applies
If you say you’re happy, chances are that you won’t be for much longer. I am so afraid now…

In other news, the secksy bespectacled blogger meme seems to have caught on…
