Breach The Surface, Breath, Dive Again

This is your life, and it’s ending one minute at a time
- Tyler Durden, ‘Fight Club’

Hello, I’m on a break.

Breaks are very important. Especially if you have a job that requires you to think on your feet and make snappy decisions that could very well come back and bite you in the ass a year from now. Without breaks, the brain would slowly shrivel up from oxygen deprivation coupled together with stress.

The tendrils of smoke from my coffee rise into my nostrils, stimulating my eyelids into fluttering from pseudo-ecstasy. It’s not so much the caffeine that I need for a quick pickme-up but rather the precious moments of time for studying soccer stats, learning more about basketball stats and checking how my portfolio is doing.

I stare out of the window admiring the city skyline and watching the ships sail off into the horizon. I massage my eyes, push my hair back, stand up and then I delve deep into my work again.
