Yes, it’s true. Amazon will pay you to answer questions that computer cannot. Examples of questions I can imagine that might require human intervention would be like:

Mandrake: Will my wang grow longer as I get older?
Naeboo: Which of the following guys is the father?
Barffie: Should I max out my AMEX or VISA card this month?
Zeus: Why are gaylords allowed to exist in my version of reality?
