Holy Bat Shit!!!!

A while back, I spilled coffee on my iPod and it kinda went crazy for while. But after it dried out, it seemed to work fine again.

After about a month, the clickwheel stopped responding every now and then. Then one day, it totally died on me. So I brought it to an Apple Service center and gave it to them to get it fixed.

Today I went to collect my iPod. I did not get my iPod back. Instead they gave me a new iPod.

A new iPod.

Oh, be still my heart!

I wish PALM were half as decent as Apple. They gave me a stinky new old one when my Tungsten E busted and this one’s battery dies in 20 minutes. And last week all my stuff got wiped out.

Apple needs to make a PDA. Pronto.

what the?

Er, what the criteria before they give you a new one? Did you say you spilled coffee on it? Or that the clickwheel spoilt.

I’m afraid it’s not a NEW ipod they gave you. Rather it’s one that has been refurnished. I know cause I sent mine for servicing once. My ipod just hung when I was out jogging one day. Aren’t MP3 players supposed to be shock-proof? Anyway, apple service centre told me they weren’t gonna service my ipod but gave me 1-to-1 exchange. I was happy but on further enquiry, was told that it was a refurnished set! I was quite disappointed with the quality of ipod. Maybe it’s because it was made in China. I continue to experience the same problem with the replacement ipod, when I subject it to violent shaking like when I go jogging. I’m so disgusted with the quality that I’m just too tired to bother to send it back for re-service anymore.

it’s not a new ipod. apple gives you an ipod someone else sent for servicing because service centres are not available in s’pore. so you’lll get someone’s else ipod and future customers might get yours.

Oh, it’s not new?!? Hmm…had also sent in a 2-year ipod and was told by the Toa Payoh Service Centre that I got a new one in return (battery problem) - it looks new enough, no scratches whatsoever and was still in its packaging. The chap showed me the old ipod as well leh…

I’ve dropped mine a million times, but it’s still working fine.

But a new one sounds good.

there’s a reputation to maintain lar..they wld need to give u a new one as long as they cant repair urs.also dont think they wld juz give u a new ipod without a good reason. usually 3rd gen and earlier have batt probs so they wld replace it with a new one :P

i still lurveee mine. i dont care. i will get another one when i can

My ipod is the 4G click wheel one…they gave me a new one too. Unfortunately, didnt give me the ipod photo or just ipod color screen or a bigger capacity one (one can always hope). they gave me the same one. I was hoping they stopped manufacturing mine but apparently they keep old stock just for replacement purposes. Oh well, new is still new is still new :p
