Parents-In-Training

My gf and I are practising to be parents one day. It’s very easy. All we do is tell her older sister who has a 3 yr old girl and a 1.5 yr old boy that we’re going out together. And then we get to be kinda like parents for the day.

On Sunday afternoon we made our way to Plaza Singapura. As my gf and her sister shopped, I pushed the kids around in a pram all over the place. If I stop for a moment, they get fidgety and start struggling to get out. So I had to keep in constant motion. Finally, I came to a toy shop and they got so excited that I had no further problems with them.

Later in the evening, we went to the East Coast beach and rented those bicycles with child seats in the front. Then we proceeded to cycle all the way to the jetty. It’s no mean feat, I tell you. The child’s seat in the front impedes the movement of your legs as you pedal, making it very akward. On the way back, the boy fell asleep, and I had to keep on hand cradling his body so he wouldnt fall off the bike and one hand to steer the bike. By the time we made our way to the car, I discovered that there was a huge blister at the bottom of my bum thanks to the horrible bike.

We returned to my place for a shower and then we went out for dinner. My mordor-in-law called and asked to be picked up from Clementi as soon as possible. Not knowing how to get to Clementi from the ECP, I had to call mrbrown who kindly provided accurate directions and we arrived at Clementi in 20 mins.

Gee, it’s quite fun to be a parent.

Dude, better put some antiseptic powder on there bum.

You guys did great. You will one day realise that no sane parent who treasures his peace and bottom will take a child cycling.

In fact, what’s a bicycle again? I vaguely recall 2 wheels …

More kids the better. Left hand carry one, right hand carry another. Another one cling to your right leg, pleading to be carried also. And your left leg is busy pushing away the kid clinging to your right leg. kekeke…..

Do not try this hor. Just an imaginary scenario nia. :)

You will not say “useless morsel of information” when you are on the ECP and you don’t know how to get to Clementi to pick your mother-in-law up. Hahaha!

Alamak. Kids are only fun if they are not yours. Plus, once they grow up it’s another ball game liao.

The kids didn’t ask that you’d buy something for them at the store? That’s the part I hate. And then getting them back out of the store. Frustrating !
