Why?

I just received this from Xiaxue:

MY blogger and gmail account got hacked. All blogs are deleted, all
3000 emails gone.

I cannot retrieve both passwords because blogger’s password prompt is
sent to my gmail account, and as for gmail, I have no idea why they
are not sending my password to my secondary account.

Please help me to announce this on your respective blogs, and curse
the MOTHERFUCKER who did this.

To whomever that did this - why? I hope you’re not a blogger. It would be very disappointing to find out that one of us would do such a thing. Let me phrase what you’ve done in real world terms.

You’ve just gone into the home of somebody you disliked, smashed their belonging and set the house on fire. Would you have done it in real life? A blog is a very personal space.

Think about what you’ve done. If you made a backup, give it back to her.

Do the right thing.

The name left on her gmail acct is Tan Kok Wan. Think he’s Chinese, probably Sing or Melaya. That bugger is really malicious. However angry he is with her, shouldn’t do that lah. How can one sleep at night after destroying somebody’s years of painstaking effort just like tt?

This is bullshit!

1) Any Apache Server by default comes with a timeout! It has nothing to do with IE or Firefox! You can’t log onto blogspot.com if your password has been changed at blogspot by someone else! YOUR CACHE DATA, be it IE or Firefox will be rejected by blogspot! This is common IT knowledge.

2) IP Addresses are logged in the server log and is trackable. Since you are making a police report, I believe there should not be any problem tracking the IPs.

3) Hacking is a serious offense! Make sure the hacker is punished severely. Even bigger offense is making fake claims of being hacked!

Common password knowledge, never use a guessable password.

In XX’s case, I would suppose she did that. Besides, other than blaming the hacker for hacking into her account, she should blame herself for using a weak password.
