  • This Is Your Life, And It’s A Series of To-Do Lists

Today is going to be a baddd day. I just opened up my calendar for today and discovered I have meetings scheduled back to back all day long. Not just any plain vanilla meetings, today is the day with boring meetings followed by argumentative meetings followed by another boring meeting and then a point-finger-at-each-other meeting and finally a how-we-screwed-up meeting in the evening.

I can’t even go out for lunch today. Have a lunch meeting scheduled to discuss how another team can do their job so I can proceed with my job. Wah lau. You must be wondering what the hell I’m doing with my life right? My life is a series of to-do lists, with each item being marked off one-by-one so that reality can continue to flow without delay.

items can sometimes linger on your TODO list a lot longer than you’d like, and it can be tricky to understand exactly why that is in each case. I’m convinced cringing is often a factor.

Thank goodness for productivity pron ingenious articles like Cringe-Busting your TODO list to help me make it through.

Kids, if you reading this - listen to your mother and be a doctor. I didn’t and now this is my life. Serves me right.

If I’d listened to my parents, I’d be a lawyer now — and something tells me my day would read a lot like yours and I wouldn’t have the time to leave this comment :)

Have a couple of nice stiff drinks tonight to wash away the bad taste of the day.

In the same vein as Tym, the best decision I ever made was not becoming doctor. I look at my peers who are docs and heave a huge sigh of relief.

Doctors are more like businessmen these days. bargain for cheap advertising, medicine, employees etc..

i quote daddy..”being busy is always a good thing :)”

How true. I wished I listen to my parents. I could have been a doctor or lawyer instead of another corporate slave.

I don’t know any doctors who would swap jobs. They are all quite content with their BMWs and Mercedes.

Actually, I thought doctors also get crazy shift hours?

Not all doctors drive expensive cars. Some are “just” upper middle class and work their butts off all day.
