The Red Dot Called Singapore

Sim Sze Siong, a local JC student has started an online photo exhibition. The very brave young lad (who emailed me using the name his parents bestowed upon him instead of hiding behind a nick like me) has even started a blog to ask all of you to start submitting photos.
I would like to introduce an online photo exhibition which I’ve
started to you. Called ‘A Tiny Red Dot’, it is an online photo
exhibition about Singapore. Visitors are encouraged to take part in
this photo exhibition by submitting a photo (or photos, if you wish)
that potrays the feelings of participants about what Singapore truly
means to them.Exploring how individuals feel towards this nation, ‘A Tiny Red Dot’
aims to encourage reflection on what are the things that matter most
to us as Singaporeans. Hopefully, for those of us who call Singapore
‘home’, we’ll learn to appreciate both the ‘goodness’ and ‘badness’ of
this country. And stand up and take a stake in shaping the future of
Singapore accordingly to our individual visions of how and what
Singapore should be.
While I applaud this marvelous use of the English language to evoke stirring emotions of patriotism, due to the current climate of rising uni fees, gay-bashing and casino-coming-soon-no-matter-you-feel; it’s quite certain that some of you incorrigible disgruntled yoof out there will be sending in photos that reflect the otherside of Singapore.
Ole, let’s see where this goes. Another grand social experiment.
So go on and visit the site to start submitting your shite.
