Our server, Liquidblade.com uses the excellent Wordpress content management system for blogging. Recently it underwent a huge version upgrade from v1.2 to v1.5. Mandrake recently upgraded all the blogs we host to v1.5 and so I’ll briefly review the new features here in plain english for you to see if perhaps Wordpress is for you.

Questions for the curious:
1) What if the bandwidth for the month is exceeded like what happened last month? Do you actually have enough server space if more bloggers join liquidblade?
2) How do we move all our archives from blogger?
3) Who has access to our password protected posts?

1) We are currently in the midst of getting a new server. There will be bandwidth galore for regular bloggers. You (FF) might consider getting your own server too as you are one popular cat.
2)There are standard import scripts for wordpress for people who wish to move to it from other blogging tools (like blogger) http://codex.wordpress.org/Importing_from_other_blogging_software
3) Only you. Admin cannot see your entries.

Am seriously considering it. Blogger sucks.
since i’m a blog virgin here, wanna know if the data and general conversion from blogger to wordpress is easy?
i’m rather lazy to read IT stuff lah…been doing that for the past week…
agentx > it’s pretty much an automated process via the script. Quite easy.
Somebody better give FF the whole complicated truth on item3. There is a reason why root is called ‘god’. ;)
And explain the CC billing system while at it. (Short version: You only get interest-free period for THIS month if the last months’ bill is paid up IN FULL.)
you know that I’ve already been thinking to move to WP as I’ve ever used WP before when I just moved my host from ydnarb.com to mapendoz :) 100% sure if i get problem with pmachine in advance and if i don’t get Expression Engine then I will move to WP
