Coffee Bean Wants You To Lose Weight
The tale of my betrayal of Starbucks for Coffee Bean

Low Cal, Low Fat, Low Guilt!
Is it true that the Vanilla Latte only has 180 calories?
Yes Sir, I swear it’s true
I’ll have one

Unsatisfied with coming up with low-carb sandwiches, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf has came up with low-calorie drinks for us, their beloved customers. I was so intrigued by the possibility that drinking coffee could make me lose weight that I actually decided to abandon my daily trip to Starbucks and have a hot one at Coffee Bean instead.

As I paid for my latte ($5.60 I think), I could not help but notice that there was a picture of a weighing scale on the floor exactly above where you should stand to pay. What a clever gimmick. So very clever. I felt like stomping it with my feet. Here’s what I think of your asshat clever gimmick. You may realize that the way I am behaving is caused by caffeine withdrawal.
Finally the low-fat, low-cal and low-guilt vanilla latte arrived and I dashed off with it to get my fix. To my horror, there didn’t seem to be any caffeine in it. I felt disappointed. It tasted good. It tasted right but the monsters in my head were not going away. Oh dear. This one must have been designed for supermodels instead of your average stressed-out salaryman.
