My Gonzo Journal In Review 2005

Dear Readers of My Gonzo Journal,

Running a blog means commitment. Not the married-with-kids sort, but perhaps the need-to-do-the-dishes sort of responsibility. You have to think up interesting shite everyday to post. It helps if you have an interesting life. Sometimes I lie awake at night in my bed, wondering if my Almost Daily Linkorama will ever make a difference for the human species. Thoughts like that are best left in the sock drawer where they will not distub you.

I’m excited about where this is all leading to. With the blogging community in Singapore getting stronger, more exciting times are ahead of us. The fact that MrMiyagi, MrBrown and IdleDays haven’t got slapped on the wrist for their outspoken posts are a good indicator that the coming elections will be damn fun for us to blog about.

Click on more for some boring stats on how my blog grew last year.

Growth in readership not equals to revenue
Monthly Stats 2004
The number of people who visit My Gonzo Journal has been growing steadily since April. From just 151 unique visitors when I first started, there has been a increase in readership to 3499 unique visitors. I feel so sorry for SD who has to pay the server bills. Yes, it’s true - I have not forked out a cent for the server since we started. I’m a scumbag.

We have sat down and tried to brainstorm ideas to make money off My Gonzo Journal that didnt involved selling our souls, banner ads and other misc evil methods but it has come down to naught. Poor SD is still paying for the server every month without fail and we dont see a single cent coming back - ever.

Sorry no porn here unfortunately
Daily Stats

An average of 550 people visit My Gonzo Journal everyday. Possible theories why they keep coming include:

  1. They like reading about my so-called-life
  2. They enjoy my Almost Daily Linkorama
  3. MrBrown gone and browned linked me again
  4. They want porn. Top 10 key searchphrases that lead people here from a search engine include “hisap konek (suck dick)”, “hisap zakar (politer version of suck dick)”, “Ase Wang pics”, “Margaret Lee pics” and “Toyota Avanza (I have no clue what this is about)”

I like reading about your life and the daily links section. In fact, one of your links provided me with a good piece of research, so see, surfing at work is good for you.
