Happy New Year 2005
Hallo everybody, it’s 2005 so I’m wishing you a Happy New Year.
I’m back in Malaysia right now and I can tell you that there wasn’t much revelry last night. Prime Minister Abdullah Badawi has ordered that all New Year Celebrations be canceled nation-wide because of the Tsunami disaster. He didn’t really need to give us a direct order because anybody not brought up in a barn didnt feel like celebrating - at least I sure as hell did not. Just looking at this picture alone makes me feel like screaming out of a window.
Throw in the horrible grey and gloomy weather with dollops of rain that has been falling with the temperature fixed between 24 - 28 degrees celcius and 2005 suddenly look rather bleak.
So last night, I went shopping at Giant Hypermarket. Grocery shopping always serves as a excellent de-stressing agent for me. The shopping cart was filled with loads of junk food (Ruffles, twisties etc) and drinks. Then I drove home, watched ‘Die Another Day’ on HBO and went to bed around 2am.
Happy New Year.
Of course everybody knows that the real new year starts when Chinese New Year is here.
