Adam King, now i understand

I used to laugh at the Guiness ad campaign called ‘Who is Adam King’. It featured a guy who looked neither young nor old, rich or poor and could not be racially identified(although we do know he is asian despite having the surname King).

I laughed because it made no sense to me.

But now I get it. Now I understand.

Adam King is not supposed to inspire. He crushes your soul by reminding you that he is all the things you wished you were and never could be. Adam King will launch a multi-million dollar franchise, go adventuring and make a fortune in the stock market - things you will never achieve.

So drink Guiness, so you may drown your sorrows knowing that you will never amount to anything in this life, never do anything with your time on earth and die a nothing-nobody.

Somebody once told me that you shouldn’t be too proud if anyone says that “you have potential” - because until you realise that potential, you are nothing.

There may be potential in Guiness’s stock price after men read my post and come round to my way of thinking.

I still prefer the old beers ads with buxom women emerging from golden beaches and flirting in the sun. better than some obnoxious jerk called adam king (i assume he is a hker because of the surname).

he is supposed to be the successor to George Lam’s previous ad campaign.

Its still a good business, all they need to do is to start up breweries in new countries, capturing new consumers.

Adam King appeals to women, ladies and girls sufficiently to start drowning in Guinness? I think not. although he def looks much better than Georgie Lamp.

Idler - Yes, I so remember the Carlsberg ad with the hot babe in white bikini emerging from the sea and running her hands through her wet hair.

I also remember the ABC Extra Stout for Extra Strength ads. The arm wrestling one.
