I have a gay secret
There is this game, I like to play. When nobody is around. I switch off all the lights and sit naked before I play it.
It’s called Harvest Moon - it’s a farming simulation. WTF is a farming simulation???
Well first of all, you play a farmer who has just bought a farm. You now have 2.5 years to run it and at the end of this period, your dad will come and evaluate you. Sounds easy? No way.
You have to farm everyday. This involves you running around to plants seeds, water the crops, harvest the ripe crops etc. This is extremely tedious and hard on your thumbs!
To make extra money, you could go foraging in the woods for wild berries to sell. Or you could fish too.
There are a couple of animals in the game. You get a dog to guard your chickens. Later in the game you get a horse to help you harvest your crops and to ride around. Finally when you have enough money, you can buy a cow - they cost a bomb.
Chickens are cheap and easy to keep. As long as you feed them every day and keep them out of the rain, they will produce an egg every morning. If you place an egg into the incubator, it hatches into a chick.
When you buy a cow, it will not produce any milk (too young). Every f87king day, you will have to talk to it and brush it. After a few weeks, it will grow into a young adult cow and produce small bottle of milk (you have to milk it). After a few months, it will be fully grown and you now get large bottles of milk which you can sell for lots of dough.
If you don’t feed, talk or brush your cow - the bleedin thing dies.
One of the things I like about this game is that it really simulates the life of a farmer. There are only so many times you can swing a hoe or dig a hole in a single day. Your char gets tired and you have to eat or rest. After a hard day’s work you can go to a bar for a beer.
There are chicks in this game. They are all very single and very available. It’s a very small village. There are not enough strapping young men to go round.
You woo the chicks by talking to them and giving presents regularly. Pretty much like real life eh?
Eventually you will get one of the chicks to marry you. After that you still have to talk to her and give her presents everyday even though she is already your wife, otherwise she won’t get pregnant and give you kids.
This game was originally developed for the Super Nintendo. Later, I also bought the Playstation 1 & 2 versions which had 3-d graphics and better gameplay. I also bought the gameboy colour and gameboy advanced versions. But somehow, this version is my favourite.
