Book Review: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time

First off, you may not like my review of this book if you have already read it and loved it just like the many other people who have made it a best-seller and the Whitbread Book of the Year.
So don’t proceed if you loved it.
I may be biased, because I read this book cover to cover in the space of 20 mins (I read very fast, he boasted) while I was waiting for Thakisis to finish up at work. There was nothing else to do, and I really was rather bored because her laptop was locked and I could not surf the net.
Before I begin, I think this is a terribly good book for the unwashed masses who
1) do not read many books
2) have terrible general knowledge
But then none of you are like that, so what the heck.
This is not a book. It is the blog of a 15-year old kid with asperger’s syndrome, masquerading as a book.
It is full of witty shite and clever bits of knowledge. Yes, you will be inducted into the mysteries of the Monty Hall problem, constellations and the Cottingley Fairies.
This book/blog opens a window into the fairly complex life of a socially-challenged kid with a father-in-despair, a whoring mother and a dead dog with a fork stuck into it. How fascinating! And that’s how I wasted 20 mins of my life.
May I recommend Milroy the Magician by Paul Theroux instead?
