The gloves, they suck

Why do men wear weight gloves in the gym?
Especially the skinny men who are all bones and skin. Why do they put on the gloves with the fancy straps? Do they fear those 10kg dumbbells will slip out of their fingers and fall onto their dainty feet? I notice all the men who look like they should not be lifting anything heavier then a suitcase own gloves — that look expensive.
I am fascinated by men who benchpress 20kg with gloves. 20 kg…! After each set, they getup and look like they’ve just lifted a truck. Then they walk to the mirror and flex their arms. Maybe they’re admiring the way the light reflects off the glove.
Perhaps they wear gloves because they fear the dumbbells may blister and rend all that pink smooth skin on their palms.

You should not wear gloves unless you are lifting more then 50kg. That’s when the danger of slippage is real. That’s when you begin to blister.
bah, I’m just in a bad mood.
