New Apartment

Today I went went house-hunting with Powerpuff. Pleased to report that it was a success. I’ve rented a room in a condo at Kembangan in the Eastern part of Singapore. The condo is rather large. I think we could have a game of football in the hall. My new housemates are a dealer, wine merchant and golf resort manager.

My room is quite large with build in wardrobes, a queen sized bed, study table and an attached bathroom. I plan to funk it up with my nasty ‘De Niro Taxi Driver’ and ‘Trainspotting’ posters.

There is a pool, tennis court, bbq pit and a gym downstairs - but the best bit is that there is a mini-mart, hairdresser and peranakan restaurant too. The train station is a 10 min walk away and I’ll have to pass 7 stations on my way to work, which is an improvement in my commuting time.

So all I have to do now is pick a date to move, and try to haul my stuff (with the help of the tribe) asap.

wow that was lucky that you found something that nice that quick ! I am still on an endless journey of looking at places. Probably cause I am too picky. I also was at some kind of place that seems to be similar to yours but I did not like the hotel-like feeling…and the “gym” was just one of those multipurpose machines in a broomchamber, the “pool” a small 15meter thing and so on …

Actually I wanted to take the first place - Powerpuff documented how it was pretty well at http://powerpuff.liquidblade.com/index.php?p=53

But she persuaded me to go look at the second apartment since we were already out and about so I went along with her plan and lucky for me that I did because i liked it and took it immediately.

Basically I was just too lazy to look at many places. I just follow these principles

1. Rent must match room desirability and location
2. Must have basic utilities like w/machine, fridge, stove etc
3. Housemates must not be serial killers
4. Must be able to imagine myself living there
5. Close to a train station
