Dun Take Your Mom’s Money

A woman’s mentality:
-
My money is also her money
But her money is her money and hers alone.
How the f87k can this be happening?
In other disturbing developments, my family has quite a bit tucked away in fixed deposits that will be maturing soon. My mom asked me if I would like to use it to buy a car.
She found a piece of paper I threw away (wtf my mom goes through my garbage!) with my calculations for monthly expenditure on their allowance, housing installments and stuff. So now she realizes how much I’m contributing towards the family each month which resulted in me not being able to afford a better car. I mean their allowance per month is already nearly RM1400 not counting the other stuff I pay for (shopping, restaurants. clothes, petrol etc). Sometimes I think that perhaps as the eldest son, I should not get married and just spend my life supporting them. We’re just a lower middle-class family and could sure use a lot of help.
But of course I declined her money. If I did, I would not hear the end of it.
Anyway I’m applying for new jobs. I like my current job, but it doesnt pay enough to give them the type of lifestyle i think they deserve.
Sometimes I see my other colleagues/friends and I envy them. They don’t have anybody apart from themselves to support. So they drive fast cars, eat at swank restaurants and go clubbing every weekend. Don’t even let me get started about the frequent golf trips.
Being the eldest son really sucks sometimes.
