‘I am Jack’s Lack of Mental Well-Being’ or ‘Athena & Her Ever-Roving Mind’

There are a lot of silent lurkers on my blog (yes, you know who y’all are) and they email me or icq me from time to time with questions of requests for advice. I ignore some of them because they have blogs that do not interest me in the least - which would mean that I have no motivation to get to know them further. And others I ignore as well because they display the worst possible attributes of a 15 year old kid stuck in a 30 year old body.

Those that I really like, I bestow tribe membership upon them.

Ok so anyway I get this really amusing email from a gal who lurks on my blog.

Your blog reveals severe inner conflict and possible mental illness. I notice the ever present and repeating themes of self-loathing, random sexual adventures, homophobia, magic ponies (possible repressed feelings of homosexuality), male bonding activities and hatred of your better half.

Have you ever considered seeking professional help? There are excellent doctors who cater to mental well-being in Singapore, which is one of the better medical hubs in that region.

Anyway I read your blog everyday and enjoy your posts. It’s very addictive and I check twice a day to see if you post anything new. Unfortunately I don’t post comments because I’m rather shy and there are other ‘regulars’ who post and I don’t know them.

So if you do take your advice and get your mental neurosis cured, your blog may no longer be interesting, and then I don’t really know what’s the point of my email anyway. Haha.
